Whether I'm hiking through alpine treks, capturing the beauty of nature through photography, or navigating snowy landscapes on snowshoes, I find joy and peace in the natural world. I'm an avid points and miles enthusiast with a travel philosophy of letting the deal pick the destination. Additionally, I cherish the opportunity for intentional travel, where I can immerse myself in different cultures, connect with people from diverse backgrounds, and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for ways of life beyond my own.
Past Life:  During my gap year before medical school, I worked full-time as an undergraduate admissions recruiter at my alma mater. During medical school, I volunteered as an instructor for the online Inclusive and Ethical Leadership Certificate program hosted by the University of South Florida Muma College of Business. This program aimed to empower individuals who became unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic with opportunities to develop marketable skills.

Favorite Activities in New Haven: While my time in New Haven has been limited, I've come to appreciate its vibrant arts and food scene. I've also enjoyed exploring the nature parks and hikes nearby, such as West Rock Ridge State Park and East Rock Park.
Why Yale’s Emergency Medicine Program: When deciding where to pursue my residency training, the main thing I looked for was finding a supportive community that would push and support me towards achieving my potential as an EM physician. During my month-long visiting sub-internship at Yale EM, I found just that. The most common thing I heard along the interview trail about what made each program special was the people. It was one thing to hear it, but completely different to experience it firsthand. Even though I was just a visiting student, all the residents and attendings I came into contact with were incredibly warm and welcoming, treating me as one of their own. They took an active interest in me not only as a student but as a person. One memorable experience of this was when an attending found out in conversation that I would walk to my shifts when it was daylight out. Even though I did this for the health benefits, they offered to lend me one of their vehicles during my time in New Haven. This is one example of how I was blown away by the genuine kindness of those that I encountered. It's these personal touches, along with the immense growth I experienced during my sub-internship, that made ranking Yale as my number one residency program a no-brainer decision.
